About this brand

Singapore-based, New Zealand-made air-dried brand using a whole-prey paleo formula. The cat range has three recipes (Chicken & Hoki, Beef & Venison, Blue Mackerel & Lamb), each built from 93% premium New Zealand meat and organs with green-lipped mussel for joint support, gently air-dried over ten hours to preserve enzymes and natural nutrients. All recipes are complete and balanced to AAFCO for all life stages.

The food

Obligate carnivore lens

Meat-first with novel proteins (hoki, venison, blue mackerel) and no grains, legumes or starches. Green-lipped mussel supplies glucosamine and chondroitin, and taurine is included to meet the AAFCO feline requirement. Vegetable glycerine is used as a humectant, which keeps moisture higher than most air-dried products.

Pragmatic lens

Moisture is stated at up to 19%, higher than typical air-dried, due to the vegetable glycerine humectant. Published ME figures vary per recipe from 4353 to 4492 kcal/kg. Because moisture is stated, dry-matter comparison is available. Vegetable glycerine sits in the Added Sugars category in this system, so all three recipes carry that consideration.

Pros

Novel New Zealand proteins, 93% meat and organs, no grains or legumes, green-lipped mussel for joint health, AAFCO complete and balanced for all life stages, moisture stated so dry-matter comparison is available, and retailed through Pet Circle.

Cons

Vegetable glycerine fires the Added Sugars consideration across all three recipes. The antioxidant listed on the label is undisclosed. Fat is a uniform 25% as-fed across all three recipes so macro variation is limited.

Recommendation

A solid choice for owners seeking novel proteins (hoki, venison, blue mackerel) in a shelf-stable air-dried format. Rotating across all three recipes provides good protein variety. The Beef & Venison recipe has the lowest kcal density of the three.
