Distinctive ingredients
Chickpeas and faba beans. Both legumes appear in all four kibbles, chicken, mackerel-and-salmon or kangaroo-and-turkey based, single protein or not. They sit immediately after the named meat or meal in every list, a fixed base layer of the dry range rather than a recipe-specific choice.
Cassia gum, guar gum and carrageenan. Present in every one of the eight pâté pouches. Cassia and guar gum are plant-derived thickeners giving the pâté its set, spreadable texture; carrageenan does similar gelling work, which is why it carries the controversial-ingredient flag here and the two gums don't. None of the three add sweetness. Dextrose, also in every pouch, does a separate job: added palatability, not texture.

Poultry is a collective term spanning chicken, turkey and duck, while the brand's other three kibbles name species-specific meals (mackerel, ocean fish and salmon meal; kangaroo, turkey and chicken meal). The product name promises one species; the ingredient panel names a category.
“Grain Free”
Be Frank markets its dry range under a 'Grain Free' banner, and three of the four kibbles back this up. Kangaroo & Turkey is the exception: brown rice is a named ingredient. That product's own page is labelled 'gluten free' rather than 'grain free', accurately, since rice carries no gluten, but the range-level claim doesn't carry the distinction through.
