Hypro Premium and Tyga offer two different approaches to the Australian cat food market. Hypro Premium positions its 85g pate pouches around hydration and urinary tract support (reducing FLUTD risk), pairing kibble and pate as a half-and-half feeding routine. Tyga develops its recipes with board-certified veterinary nutritionists and cooks gently at 85 degrees C rather than serving raw or extruding. The two brands differ in several ways beyond the one point highlighted here.
Hypro Premium is built on a grain-free, 100 percent real meat positioning using locally sourced Australian ingredients, made at Hypro's own NSW facility. It is a brand of Hypro Pet Foods, a family-owned Australian manufacturer in the Hawkesbury Valley run by the Camilleri family for more than 25 years, alongside its Be Frank and Pure Life brands.
Tyga builds each recipe on 87 to 91 percent named meat and organs with functional whole-food extras like green lipped mussel, tuna and shiitake. It offers a kangaroo recipe, a lean novel protein uncommon among cooked cat foods.
